Diabetic Clinic
We aim to provide good quality care in cooperation with the Hospital Diabetic services.
Respiratory Clinic
The aim of this clinic is to optimise the care of our patients with chronic chest problems and to provide education and information to enable patients to best manage their condition.
Minor Surgery
We have facilities within the Medical Centre to perform minor surgery such as the removal of lumps, cysts etc., joint injections, toenail surgery and to treat skin warts and verrucas.
Blood Pressure Clinic
Monitoring of patients with hypertension (high blood pressure) is provided by appointment with the Practice Nurses.
Cardiovascular Health Clinic
We offer regular review appointments to all patients with cardiovascular problems ( eg Heart Attacks , Angina , Strokes etc). The aim is to minimise symptoms and reduce the risk of further problems by helping patients with lifestyle advice and by managing medication.
Benefits Advice Clinic.
A Benefits Advice Worker is available for consultation within the Practice. Please contact reception to arrange an appointment. This is a useful service to check that you are receiving your full benefit entitlement.
Health Check
We provide health screening for both men and women by appointment with the Practice nurses. It is aimed to identify any risk factors for serious disease so you can be advised on prevention of ill health, including diet and exercise.
Family Planning
A full range of Family Planning Services including contraceptive pills, coils, caps, injectable methods and the contaceptive implant are available at the surgery. Emergency contraception ("the morning after pill") is also available within 72 hours of intercourse.
Maternity Services
The Community Midwives run regular clinics from this surgery. Antenatal clinic appointments can be booked directly through the reception - there is no need to first see a doctor.
The doctors will be happy to discuss and advise on any pre-conception queries you might have to optimise your and the baby's health if you are planning a pregnancy.
Baby Clinics
The Practice holds a weekly Baby Clinic on Wednesdays between 1. 15pm and 2.45pm. Our health visiting team is available for advice and to provide routine developmental checks for children under 5 years. No appointment necessary. We also provide a weekly Immunisation Clinic
Well Woman Checks / Cervical Smears
Well-woman checks/cervical smears are performed by both the Doctors and Practice Nurses. The Practice recommends that cervical smears are carried out every 3 years for women aged between 25 and 50 years and every 5 years if you are between 50 and 64 years.
Epilepsy Clinic
The aim of this clinic is to provide optimum care for patients with epilepsy by offering an annual review
Smoking Cessation
We provide advice and support to help you quit smoking. We can prescribe various treatments to assist you in stopping smoking
Primary Care Mental Health Team
The practice is involved in an innovative pilot project with the primary care mental health team. This allows our patients quick and direct access to cognitive/behvioural therapy services for the treament of many mnental health problems. If you feel you could benefit from these services please discuss with one of the Doctors or our Nurse practitioner.
